Joint Lodges Commemoration Ceremony

A Joint Degree and Service was held on 14th November 2018 to commemorate 100 years since the end of the First World War. Brethren from both Earl Haig and Elgins Lodges took part in the degree in front of a full house. A very solemn Armistice service was conducted after the degree.

We were also very honoured to have The Depute Grand Master Mason Bro. Ewan Rutherford and Grand Secretary Bro. J Euan Edmont in attendance and Provincial Grand Master Bro. Stewart Quigley and a very fine deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Fife and Kinross.

Our P.G.M. Bro Stewart Quigley presented a Cheque to Bro. Gordon Michie of Poppyscotland of the sum of £1918 raised by PGLFK for the 1918 Poppy Pledge.

Our R.W.M Bro John Heron presented Bro. Quigley with a gavel made by himself and following that yet another presentation was made, this time for our R.W.M. by  W.J.W.Bro Andrew Wishart who presented him with a copy of the Volume of the Scared Law within a presentation box made by Provincial Grand Chaplain Bro. Alex Whitehill, the wood coming from an old pugh from Dysart Kirk.

Special thanks go out to Bro. Darren Empson (Bugle), Bro. Jim Aitken (Organ), Bro. David Shand (Solo), Bro. Alan McPhail (Poem)  from The Widows Sons, Bro Bob Ross (Piper) and our candidate Bro. Gareth Kirkwood.

Bro. Gordon Michie P.M. commented " A huge personal thank you to all who attended this joint degree by Lodge Earl Haig No.1260 and Elgins Lodge No.91 here in Leven and our Service of Rememberance and tribute to Bro. Field Marshall Earl Haig"

It was a wonderful way to end a historic and eventful meeting in such a memorable year.
